Well I went down to look at a BW T5 today and was quoted a price of $200 if I wanted to buy it. It wasn't a BW, or a T5 or even a 280zx tranny. I am pretty sure it was a for a ford. What is it with some people...trying to play me...I have over 500 post now, I am smarter now
Right guys?

The 280ZXT Borg-Warner T5 doesn't look like the 280ZX NA tranny. The T5 should look like this:

There are some major differences between the 'Nissan/Datsun' T5 tranny and the 'Domestic' T5's used in Mustangs, Chevy's, Jeeps and numerous other US cars.
- The input shaft is shorter and has only 25 splines
- The Bellhousing is specific to the L6 (obviously)
- It's a NON-World Class (low torque) tranny - commonly referred to as NWC
- Significantly different gear ratios than domestic T5's
Here's a link to all 265 versions of the T5 that were sold to the public along with their corresponding tag #'s and the make/model car they came in:

Pretty much the only thing interchangeable without modification is the shifter.
Several people on HybridZ have had World Class T5 housings converted by shortening the input shaft, converting to a 26 Ford spline count and replacing the gears with GForce hardened gear sets. Typical build runs into the $2500 range...
The good news is you can run a hi-po Ford T5 clutch with the 26 spline input shaft. WAY cheaper and WAY stronger than the Nissan T5 clutch.

Do all o the 2+2's have the R200? I have the diffs from two parts cars, 1 coupe with a manufacture date of 3/79 and a 2+2 that was a md of ?/82. Just by looking they look alike.
Is there a reason to stay away from the VLSD? I saw a few on the 'bay from S13's. Could they be swapped into a 2+2?

A viscous is good for street driving and can be okay in racing. The drawback is that they dont respond as quickly as disc units. Some are susceptible to heat as well. Drifting for example can create a lot of heat in a differential which can start to break down the fluid.
