Passenger Brake Light

i recently purchased a 83 280ZX, and the passenger brake light doesn't turn on at all. i've already searched the forum for the same problem, and tried everything i've come across so far. i have put in a new brake switch, replaced bulbs, new fuses, and replaced the socket for the light. i was wondering if there is one more thing before i go out and rewire the whole thing.

Welcome to ZDriver! Did you check for voltage at the brake light plug?

yes, I was getting the same as the other light. some mechanics i asked have been saying it could be a bad ground, but any other ideas from others familiar with the the car would be greatly appreciated.
