Megasquirt 280zx NA fuel only

I have been asked by a few people to post some pics of my 280 engine bay after i completed the MS3 installation.

What was done.
Built megasquirt 3 ECU
I removed most all emissions parts from the intake.
Installed a 60 MM throttle body
Used 300zx turbo stock injectors
Custom fuel rail, tig welded stainless steel
Adjustable pressure reg.
Using MAP sensor vs mass air flow meter
custom intake filter and pipes
Electric fan controlled by MS3

We use this car to drive 500 miles each weekend all summer up to our boat on lake michigan. It has 65000 miles on it and runs like a dream. It's like driving a museum around. We get a lot of comments and second looks.

I can do that but it will take me a little while. We are very busy now that summer is finally here.

My 280 has lots of power, but I do have it tuned more for long cruising than racing. We drive it 500 plus miles each weekend. So I let tunerstudio tune it more for improved MPG and a smoother drive.

You have the option to play with the fuel/air mixture tables in the ECU. In fact I think it has the option of running 2 tables and you can put a switch on the dash to change between the 2.

I'm now 3000 miles in to running MS and have had zero issues with the fuel system. MS seems to be reliable for a daily driver. I know when looking into MS I was worried about it being more of hobby type kit. You know something you play with but never quit get it perfect or something a kid would do to just show off to his friends. But it's far better than that. Knowing what I know now I would put this system into any car that needs a upgrade to the ECU. This is especially true of the Z cars because of the known issues with faulty sensors and bad wiring.

I plan to do a write up on my install as soon as I get time to do it.

Also this winter while the car is in for the winter I'm going planning to also setup the MS to run my ignition as well. This involves changing the dizzy to a turbo dizzy and new coil packs. From what I have read this make the MS ECU 10 times better.

Oh another note, the red 300zx you see in my signature has the engine out if right now because we are upgrading the fuel and ignition system in it and adding the MS ecu to it. A few yrs ago we upgraded it to a turbo and used a OEM turbo ECU. The car did run great but it was obvious the OEM ECU just didn't get the tuning right, it ran rich most of the time. With MS it will monitor the mixture and adjust.
