Max Boost ?

In my opinion, the safest boost level would be 9 to 10 psi. No one can be totally sure because we don't know the condition of your motor. The more boost you run the harder it'll be for the motor to deal with it. If the motor is in pristine condition and heavily modified (like mine) you can run pretty ridiculous boost levels (I'm at 25psi). If it has 100k+ on it with questionable maintenance you have to be more careful.
Do a full leakdown compression test first. This will give you an idea of how good your rings are and if there's any inconsistency from cylinder to cylinder. That combined with the total mileage on the motor and we may be able to give you a little better advice.

Hey S/CL3.0
If you want to put that pic as your signature, you just need to make it a little smaller. Most photo progams can shrink it easy enough, or you can get "JPEG Compress" software for free and do it. I forget the maximum sixe criteria but I thinks it's something like "no bigger than" 600x600 or something like that... yours is like 680x460ish
Rod.

ok so i hook up the manual boost controller to the Accuater then to the manual boost controller then i block off the compressor hole right ? so there is a little hose from the accuater to the compressor side ? so for me to put on the manual boost controller all i have to do is hook up the hose from the accuater to the manual boost controller then to a t pipe fitting on the manifold ontop by my POV but i still have to block off the compressor side am i right ? my friend told me thats how to do it i will be running only 7psi to test and im not listing to u people saying boost to 1,000,000 psi !!! watch my car turn into a space shuttle and take off lol HEHEHEHE sorry i kinda got affended all i want is honest advice ;-)

Take the vacuum line coming out from the compressor, connect it to the boost controller's "in" port, and then take the "out" port's line and hook it up to the actuator. Or at least that's how the installation of my Profec B was. I'm pretty sure most other boost controllers would be hooked up in a similar fashion. All it is, is run in series with the vacuum line.

ok i hooked it up and ran my car a few times at first i didnt think it was working at all so i checked eveything and then i fixed the problem i turned up the boost but then PIFFFFFFFF i heard the POV sound like a chattering squrial .... so i turned it down and no problem.. but how do i get to 7 psi on my stock 280zx turbo boost gauge with out the PIFFFFFF sounds ?do i really have to modify the POV ?i was thinking about blocking it off but i have decided thats wayyyyy to risky but the link i was sent show how to modify the POV but im afriad there might be a point of no return.. ? ( but eather way the manual boost controller is ON !!!! YAAA !!!!) p.s. i was in second gear and the little line barly got up to the red line on the boost gauge ? maybe i need and external boost gauge huh ?

-You don't HAVE to... but ya won't ever boost above ~7.5 psi w/ it stock. It's there for a purpose. You have 3 options... 1: Modify it, 2: Cap it, 3: Get the aftermarket one from MSA.... You choose.
FYI... you should have installed an external boost gauge BEFORE doing the boost controller. How ya gunna know what boost ya at?
