I have never had a problem with it. In fact, I'm pretty sure my L28 sold it's soul to satan when it was installed at the factory. I don't want to jinx it, but at 250K it has no blow by or bypass, it has great compression across all 6, the valves are clean, it runs like an animal... all this on a motor that has never had the head off, has been driven pretty hard (But always well maintaned). I have a theory on this whole issue though and half of you guys will think that i'm crazy. I have seen a lot of 280ZX over the years with far fewer miles on them than my car does and many of them had bypass or blow by issues among other afflictions. The story on most of those cars is that they are "second" cars and don't get driven much. A lot of them have been babied but are still suffering the same problem. My theroy is... The more miles you put on it, the less likely it is to break... sounds funny, but my car is a pretty good argument for that. I don't think these motors like to sit around or only be driven mildly. Drive it hard and often and it will last for ever!!!! ... ... ... ... ... ... Rod.

Same here. Pushing 250,000 (it's at like 247,000) and the engine itself is solid as a rock. It's had it's electircal gremlins and nearly the entire supporting cast has been replaced but the engine, head and all their internals are still rocking on. I've got great compression and great power. No blowby (no more than normal, all cars have some). If it's a fresh motor then it could be that the rings just haven't seated yet.

260k and its ok. Like J said its nothing out of the ordinary. I dont know the history of the car but for as long as I have had her its been well maintaned which would be the last 50k

hmm i seem to be having a lot of blow by and my pcv valve seems to be covered in oil. Not sludgy built up oil, but more wet...
I was thinking about running an oil catch can, that way i wont have to deal with oil in my intake...

Blow by is normal, but excessive blow by is not. A catch can will keep oil out of the intake but then you've still got all that blow by which means you're not going to make as much power as you could be.

My Car Had 242000km On Org. Parts And No Blow By And The New Engine Has None Either. Would Too Much Oil Pressure Or A Blocked Port Cause That? Try And Get One Of Those Hot Engine Flushes With The Chemical Stuff

I wouldn't worry about that. Just make sure the PCV valve is good. Worst case scenario: you eventually lose compression all together. Well I guess if the rings are going bad then you could end up jarring one and scuffing the cylinder, but that less likely. How much longer you planning on running this motor and how long has it been doing this?
