intake/exhaust manifold gaskets

so what are the symptoms of a bad intake/exhaust manifold gasket?

Usually you can see that the gasket is missing. If the exhaust part is bad (aka burnt away) you will have a loud exhaust leak. Intake side... prolly have an idle problem.

Yup, been there done that many of times.

If this is your first time changing it out good luck. I think it took me...hell, I think it was a full day. Now it's maybe a hour ot two to change out the gasket.

I know for sure I have an intake gasket leak....rough idle and 3,000rpm to about 4,000rpm feels like a miss with some chirping. May also be what makes my idle come down slow...maybe.
