Intake Manifold

What would you all suggest going with for an intake manifold? I remember installing one on a G35, and it was a nice piece - I think it was made by Injen. I just picked up my 350Z. Which one should I go with? I'm looking for performance, not looks. Doesn't need to be chrome, or anything like that.

I had an kinetix ssv on my 350. For a fraction of the price you can get a spacer. Gains should be about the same. If you are considering supercharging I think the ssv would provide bigger gains.

No offense to your purchase, but I wouldn't recomend the ssv for anyone looking to do FI or anyone looking for performance gains. It looks great though.

I'd go with a spacer.

i have the kinetix top 1/2. .works better for my 03 performance cause for some reason the damn skunk 2 spacer made my manifold touch my hood. .and i lost the strut brace. .so sacraficed handling for power. . but with the top 1/2 i was able to keep the strut brace. .i have a brand new skunk 2 spacer tho. .if anyone's interested. .i sent it back as a defect and got a brand new one from it. ..

question about your ssv. ..i've been told that it acctually makes the z's engine loose a little HP and that the top 1/2 plenum's a tad better. .have you been dyno'd? do you have any spec's other then that from kinetix??

based on all the stuff I've read from all the different setups, the SSV mainly shows gains if you have headers and/or cams, use a thermogasket, and especially if you run boost

http://www.my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=326300

otherwise it can lose power with the stock engine cams and headers.

if you read the NA or vortech/ATI threads of people who have cams and/or headers, you'll see that they report gains
the turbo or NA guys who leave the cams and headers stock all report losses with the SSV

I'm happy with mine and don't think switching to another manifold or plenum will be worth it

the V+ gains power
there's like 3 or 4 years of threads that seem to back that up on other sites

I'm going to have to side with the plenum as opposed to the rubber plenum spacer because of air distribution. Big power means more Volume. I would have started with a Nismo Cam. Problem is the car performs even better with intake runners so a matched set is ideal.
