installing a OEM oil cooler ?

hello every body i took off the oil cooler of the 1981 280zxt and now im going to install it into my 1982 280zxt 2+2 i looked at every angel but i ran into a small but minor problem ... the bolt that goes to the oil cooler assembaly that bolts into the oil block every thing thats supose to be on the oil cooler is there minus one brass ring that im gonna go buy tomorow, but when i pulled off my oil filter on my 2+2 there was already a metal spot coming out of the engine block ( now how do i get the metal tube that connects into the oil filter out ? ) with out damanging it ? i was gonna go BARBARIC... lol and use a pair of vise grip... but i decided i need to be gentale... any body ever put in a oil cooler onto and non oil cooled 280zxt ? or 280zx n/a/ ? please give me any details so i dont use the vise grip thanks , ken

i am able to take pictures now !!!! but i am not ome right now i am at my g.f. house about ready to go to walmart to go get m a few new brass washers to replace the one thas missing , the blot that the oil filter goes onto ( on a none oil cooler car) compared to the hole assembly on a hole complete oil cooler assembly ? i any help ?

nismo619... you talking about the threaded pipe that sticks out of the block & threads onto the oil cooler adapter right?

You should already have one on the other block... so ya don't need to pull that one. If you feel like you really need it for some reason, buy 2 nuts & screw them both on the threaded pipe... tighten the first one against the second one & with a wrench you will be able to loosen the pipe out of the block.

yep its thats pipe so u say buy 2 bolts to fit it and then try to back it out huh ? ill try that tomorow and tell yall what bolts i had to buy and how hard it was etc thanks again nismopick
