I swaped the rear end out on my 82 280zxt and when I was cleaning up I found this spring under my car and I have no idea where it came from or if it even came from my car. So if any one has any idea where it goes please help. Thanx

 

Looks like it's either a brake shoe retaining spring, or a brake master / slave piston spring. Doesn't look like it came from a 280zx... Is there a hole in that top cover piece?

 

Theres no hole on the top cover peice. Its about 4 inches long. Could it have poped out of the cv axle? The only thing I pulled out was the cv axles, the rear diff and unbolted the driveline. Or could it have come from the 300zx?
