HELP! With TPS/Throttle Solenoid Switch

K..... 1981 280ZXT with CAS system.

Wonder if I have the wrong throttle position sensor or switch. Wiring diagram shows two blue wires going into the switch. One blue with a black stripe, and one blue with a green stripe.

The sensor has three electrical tabs, and the plug has three. Where do these two wires go on that, and are only two used?? Third to ground?

Anyone care to take 10 mins, and check out their Z.

This will be a huge help right now. THanks.

I'm pretty sure the turbo only uses two...

the turbo does infact use two, but the TPS itself still has the 3 prongs. They just used the same TPS for all models. Odd if you actually have 3-wires coming out of the TPS connector though. Maybe some sort of conversion?

Cool. Thanks. Does it matter where the two wires go? There was one wire on teh connector cut real short. I am sure that was the one not used. But the other two are disconnected. I have quite a bit of baked wire harness that I am going to have to go through and replace. I have gotten the car running pretty good now. Good enough to do a brake stand burnout and get about 4psi of boost. Need new O2 sensor, and a few other odds and ends. Still running horribly gas through it. Did not bring my hand pump today to pull the gas out of the tank.

Easier way to do that?

not true, the turbo TPS is a 2 prong one BUT using the 3 prong NA sensor wont effect it. also, isnt there a plug in the gas tank bottom like on the S30's gas tank?

Yeah no plugs at all. I will pull it from the fuel pump inlet hose. No problem.
Car is running pretty good now with no TPS, and some nasty injector wires and bad gas. lol
Boosting to around 4psi, but will not get above that. I imagine when everything else is good, that will pick up.
