HELP!! rmp's only hitting 2000

My son left the lights on and ran the battery completely dead. After jumping it and going down the road, it only hits 2k rpm's then governs itself. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Terry

I was in a hurry

this is on a 1982 208zx non-turbo. I don't know if this was a fluke that it happened after the battery went dead or what.

Either the plug on the TPS is loose... wet or bad. Make sure it is dry and plugged in correctly and re-check.

Hey Rod,
Sorry but I don't know what the TPS is. I know the hood was open while they were trying to jump start the car and it was pooring down rain.

If you could tell me what it is and where I'd find it I would really appreciate it.

Thanks, Terry

Thanks to Skully and Rod. I found it and it was full of water. I dried it out and cleaned and greased the terminals and siliconed the connector.

Thanks for the help fellas!
