tps sensor has moisture in it. did anything happen other than night fall that you may or may not be aware of? like really heavy rainfall. or washed out the engine bay, or drove through a puddle earlier that day. check also for loose connections on the engine. think and report back.

the little box on the throttle body, i would seriously get something over that motor, even if its a beet up, rusted, dented, crappy hood, it WILL save your ***..

That moisture sensor is sure a PITA. I washed the car one night and then couldnt get going faster than 45 in 5th the next day. Is there any way to disable it or dry it out quickly if this happens again?

Just disconnect it & blow it dry w/ compressed air, let it air dry, or spray it w/ WD40. Then apply some di-electric grease.

Thats the key right there if you dont the headache coming back time and time again.

Also using some shrink wrap or electrical tape to seal off the connector boot where the wires enter if the boot is rotting away from age. That thing needs to be sealed as well.
