Headlight problems

I have a question about the headlight sensor, what exactly does that do. We are trying to figure out wut my headlights are doin they will switch from regular to brights automatically we switched the headlight relay which helped it from shutting off automatically but it still switchs to brights w/ out manually doin it if u know what is wrong i would appreciate it

maybe the switch in yer steering column is shorting out...try wiggling it and see if it does anything...like my did same when i would turn on my lights so i took apart the column and had to pry apart the little contacts more then they were...almost touching...it could be this...
