Im pretty sure it doesn't matter but if you lay them back over the manifold they should fall into the place they were before. Its called "wire memory" which is basically that they are permanetly in the position they have been in for 20+ years.

well i noticed that they were kinda i guess molded to goto certain plugs but i wasnt too sure about 2-3 and 5-6 and ive been cranking the engine at all possible combinations and it just doesnt seem to wanna turn over..i cant seem to find the problem, at one time i thought it was the timing but i checked the timing chain and all is good.. so i cant seem to figure i out i was concluding to the injectors but if thats not the matter then what could possibly be keeping me from starting?

It doesn't matter what order the injectors are connected in. They're all batch fire. Did you check for spark?
Get a noid light and you can check to see if your injectors are firing too. Let us know what you've checked and I'm sure someone can help you. But if you can narrow it down to fuel or spark, it'll be easier.

have you tried adjusting your distributor? I know you said you checked your chain, but from experience, I've put the front cover back together, and ended up putting the distributor rod WAAAAAAAAY off, where the dizzy had to be turned so far to the right that it was no longer on the plate.

i dont have a dizzy where you can turn it to adjust... mine is a 8/81 model... and i put my dizzy back on exactly as i took it off and it ran just fine before i took it off.. so i do not believ that is the problem...

You mean the thing won't turn over at all, as in it's not cranking? Or it just won't start?

Sounds like timing to me. I bet you put in the oil pump gear wrong. If it is even one notch off it will not crank or it will run really crappy. Dont worry dude, it took me 3 tries to finally get mine right.

[QUOTE=assimilated420]ok i have checked for spark and fuel and i have both...

I have a question about this issue. I have spark but no fuel can anyone help me becasue my fuel gets all the way to the rail and then just flows back to the tank so I was wondering if anyone could help.

Check to make sure you're injectors are firing. If they're closed the fuel will just make a full loop. Check you're fuel pressure regulator. If it's open, and the fuel pressure is kept too low, it will take the path of least resistance and, for the most part, just bypass the injectors into the return line.

Hope that helps.

i did not adjust the oil pump gear however...and i thought it was the timing chain and i checked and the chain is timed correctly, ive checked the injectors and they are going and the distributor is firing... the only thing i can think of is that the distributor is off...ill be out there tomorrow to look at it but i can only think of it being the spark...it sounds like its trying to start but it just wont..

Its ALIVE!!!! my timing chain was correct and i injectors were fine, my distributor needed a new rotor head as it was getting loose, to the point i guess it couldnt fire correctly so i bought a new one and a cap also from O'reilly and it started up and sounds brand spankin new... shes purring and purring very nicely.. and i think my car has given me a thousand thanks after replacin her gaskets.. and now for some reason she seems to have a lot more git-up-n-go and im flyin faster than i was before so it goes to show that if you give these gals a lil lovin they give a lot in return..

i ended up racin this acura ricer again... and ive beat him before but he saw me and i havent been showin myself for a couple months and me n this guy have been off n on but ive beat him all but once...well i think he was alil surprised as i left him in my dust... hahahaha! and i have a 3-speed automatic tranny...
