Fuel Pressure Reg

I just got an Autotek adjustable fuel pressure regulator. I put it in-line like I thought it should go, didn't come with any instructions. I removed the old regulator and connected the lines where the old one went. Now the car won't start. Can someone give me some advice on where the regulator will go on a stock fuel rail? Any help is appreciated.

Does it have a fuel pressure gauge? Ya kinda need one to "adjust" the fuel pressure... otherwise you'll have no idea where it's at.

Yes it does have a pressure gauge.

I put the regulator in the line that comes out of the fuel filter to the fuel rail. The fuel pump will come on and pressure up to about 20lbs, then the pressure bleeds off for some reason. It's not holding. Prior to putting the new regulator in the car would run fine, just thought it would be better to be able to make adjustments if needed.

Fuel pressure should be 30-35psi. Adjust it up.

ya turn it higher that will probably be it. if the pressure bleeds away though....thats not right. either your return lines are bad or something cause your car should be able to hold pressure for a while.

even though this is old, i think this is his problem. look for the bold. eh durrrr.........

I KNOW HIS PROBLEM!! he needs the pressure regulator at the end of the fuel rail where the factory one connects...not before the fuel rail.
