Finally found the problem!

OK, after all the checking, cleaning, and a few new parts with none of it helping solve the problem, a local 2 man shop found what the Nissan dealer mechanics couldn't find!

WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP!! I and the dealership tested the pump and it was in normal range, AFTER a few miles and it got hot, the pressure dropped to zero. The pump seemed a little loud from the day we first brought it home but worked fine, I guess normal is a hummm, I found out they can run for a couple years after they first start to get loud.

So, I read a lot of other peoples post about their Z's that seemed to have the same symptoms, but one had a bad Dizzy, another a bad TPC, another a bad AFM, and the list goes on and on. I guess the moral to this story is, expect the unexpected when dealing with Z's and what their owners think could be wrong. This is the reason mechanics go to school and continue going to classes.

Thanks for all the advise, I'm a little wiser and a little poorer but at least the problem is fixed and my son is happy. (for now) (LOL)

Mine would take forever to start occasionally, I replaced everything else, tested the pump with a gauge(tested good) still had the problem. Replaced the pump, fires right up every time now.

I've been through 3 fuel pumps already.

Fuel Pump = 3
Turboboost = 0
