I think a dual side would be better, but still yeah, I think it'd look kinda funny on a Z. The exhaust note would be pretty freaking loud too since it'll be pretty much an uncorked n/a, so hopefully you won't have any a-hole cops in your area.

are you talking about loivers on the rear windows??? i got rid of mine... i use to have them on my Z in the 80s... that was like a 80's thing to have them on the ZXs.. it looks better without them if you ask me...

Yes, it will definatley make your car look more dated. I dont think the added rear hatch coolness on a hotday or hard to see your valuables effects they have are really worth it. But if you like that look go for it, there is nothing wrong with having your car look like it is still in the 80s.
I like the sidepipe idea. I think you need to split the exhuast to have a pipe on each side. I had thought about doing that to my '80NA at one time. The exhaust note would be loud but probably no louder than some of the Hondas buzzing around with their sawed off mufflers and chrome exhaust tips and "go-fast" stickers!
I like louvers, too. They make a huge difference in temperature and spare the rear carpet from all the direct sunlight. I think they look cool, too, but then I was in high-school in the 80s so I already have a dated opinion.
Do what you want to do. Go for unique and original ideas. Not everbody has to like them, but you're the one driving the car.

On my 2+2, when I took the louvers off, any amount of sunlight shining on my car would make the back window look like a mirror to me. I could see nothing behind me, only what was laying in the back hatch area. Are the 2-seaters this way too? I know the window angle is a little different. I put the louvers back on for this reason.
Maybe dark tint would help?

:p
i never had that problem .....is yours tint in the back?
i wanted the louvres on for more retro look type thing.....but i plan on adding a whale fin air dam and headlight covers.....so i dunno if louvres would be good...
yeah tint helps alot....im gonna tint the back and 2 side windows to like 80% and front just slightly so cops dont notice much....

If you dig the loivres go for it! Grow a mullett and get the side loivres too, they don't look that bad. (the loivres) SP? Also, I got headlight covers from victoria British and I'm not impressed. While they do look nice, the fit is not ideal and the mounting brackets are cheap and flimsy with 3M double sided tape that melts in the heat. Maybe there are better quality ones somewhere?

Yea I got those headlight covers too, the fit isnt so hot and unless you wanna drill your headlight nacells, the 3m tape will wear out and you will have brackets hanging and screws missing, and also if you try to move the 3m tape cause the fit isnt lined up perfectlly, the one piece of 3m tape that actually sticks has already bonded to your paint and will rip it right off. Its not really an issue of the fit being horrible, its just that when you trie to screw down the headlights to make them fit real tight and snug the 3m tape will pop off, unless maybe it has been bonding for a really long time, but if its been bonding for a really long time and its off and you have to remove it your screwed so its a loose loose situation
Maybe someone has had better luck with this than me with the 3m tape. Mine doesnt look that bad, but water does get in and it can leave residue from rain in there. Im gonna leave them on for now but if i ever repaint my car im leaving them off
