Engine Starts then Stops

Ive got a 1979 Datsun 280zx, the car was running perfectly fine, nothing wrong with it then when i went to start it again it would turn over and run for a second or two and then it stops. It does this over and over again. The day this happened i put new carpet in the car. Is there a chance that i disconnected something that would cause the car to do this? So far ive checked all connections on the motor and intake and under the carpet, and checked the connections at the distributor. Thanks very much in advance for any of your help

Check your fuel pump. it is located right behind the passenger seat. You might have knocked a connection loose.

Well, sometimes things mechanically when you're doing cosmetic work. Yes, you might've disconnected the fuel pump by accident...but I'd spend a few bucks and get a new fuel filter as well. It might have been time...you never know.
