Just a quick question, I have a '83 N/A Auto, I was wondering if there is a chip or a pug in, which increases some horsepower or rpm's. Mine seems to fall kinda flat after about 4000, any suggestions or comments ?

No... and I'm not being an ***, but this question has been asked 1.4 zillion times before.

and the list goes on...

There's also a lot of threads about performance upgrades for the 280zx. Unfortunately there isn't too much you can do on the n/a engine, without spending a bit of $$$

In a nut shell:

-Adjust AFM
-Shave the head a bit
-Mild Cam
-Exhaust header
-Port the in manifold / head
-60mm TB
-Add a potentiometer to the CHTS

or just scratch the stock efi system & go MegaSquirt.

yada yada yada...

Old autos suck power and the gearing is less than ideal.

You'll get more wheel horsepower increase by swapping to a 5-speed manual and 3.9 rear gear than any amount of money you can pour into the engine itself. Also, a slightly larger exhaust than stock will help a bit at above 4000rpm.

You can be like me and have a 1980 rear end with the 1979 5 speed... get's outta the hole pretty quick. Turns a million RPM's at 70 MPH though

thanks for the input, excluding #1, unfortunately, due to disability I need the auto. Love the manuals.
