Battery Clamp

I have a friend who has a 280Z 1983 and when she replaced the battery the negitive clamp (looks original) seems to be too big. I was going to put a battery disconect on her car but the clamp was too big for the disconect as well. I know some of you will say worng batery but she has had this car since 1984 and says she knowes what group (size) it should be. Help! We want to use the original clamp as the car only has 29000 miles on it.

Welcome to ZDriver!

Option #1:
Take the battery back & get the right size (she should have compared new to old BEFORE she bought it).

Option #2:
Spend $5 and buy a universal terminal that WILL work.

Negative and positive terminals are different sizes. They do that to stop you from putting opposite cables on a battery. You just need the proper terminal clamps. Use peco solder on ones for best results

Something like this and get you a battery hold down kit if you don't have it.
