Battery at 17v
Hey all, I'm new here from Dallas, TX. Doing a 78 280z restore. It's my first car restoration so unfortunately I'll be asking more questions than answering.
So I finished redoing a lot of the engine rewiring and replacing fusible links with fuses etc. When I got done, and it may have been this way before hand, the charging voltage was 17v. The car still functions just fine at that voltage, but I know it's not good for the battery. Any ideas on what's causing this?

I took the alternator off the other day and took it to Oreilly. It failed all the tests and I bought a new one. The new one works great! 14.7v. I know it was probably an obvious solution but I wasn't sure after I redid all the wiring. That's all!
