Yes, and the scheduled cure is to replace the engine with an aluminum ford v8.(yes, I know that anybody with any sense would simply tighten the belt)

I really don't want to not have a charge wire not working. It is nice to know, when something is going south in my charging system. Anyway, what about hooking up a 300zx alternator? It would be plenty of amps for me. And is it from a Z31? Let me know, if you can. Thanks in advance.

My gauge works fine, I haven't dropped far enough on the volts to tell you if the "idiot" light works or not. One of the easiest and best upgrades to do for your ZX. The GM alt is mighty cheap compared to a replacement Nissan alt too.

Oh, okay....So your volt gauge works like it should? That is mainly what I was worried about. I may look into it in the near future. Thanks for the input.
