Air Flow Unit
Air Flow Unit
I have a 1981 280zxt and am wondering if the airflow meter that is from a non turbo 280 would work the same way because i just put it in and have to open more to fool the engine into thinking that there is more air coming in and then it runs smooth when it idles. This has been the problem for a while i have replaced almost all the valves and checked the vacuum system and thats good. So i dont really know what is wrong at all, the only thing i can think of is getting a new computer for it? Let me know what you think thanks.
What the? You put an n/a AFM in a turbo? That's completely backwards... the n/a AFM is physically smaller and calibrated for less air. If your stock turbo AFM needs to be adjusted, adjust it.
And you've replaced "almost all the valves" ??? So you took the head off, and only replaced some of the valves???

^ I would, I didn't think that you could swap a N/A into a Turbo. Because I know it is hard to put a Turbo one on a N/A. So yes I would suggest, you buy a new Turbo AFM. And save yourself some headache. Good luck with that.
