Oh boy... hold me back guys!

Here's what I said about a very similar topic just yesterday:

Anyway, before I start my rice rocket stereotype rant, I better say something that WON'T offend:
Lets see... a 93 LT1 Vette has wha... ~300hp? and the same (if not MORE) torque... and the Vette is meant as a Racecar.

Compared to a late 70's early 80's technology 280zxt rated at 180hp... A stock 280zxt pushing 10psi boost... ~205hp.

If we do the math here... looks like the Corvette has a huge advantage in all areas.

I know back in the day the 280ZX pretty much matched up to the Vette, if not ran a little faster than it, but when you compare the 280 to the Vette then it's not even gonna be much of a match. Now if you were running a Z32TT against that LT1 it'd probably be pretty close.

i laugh at most people who own high performance high HP cars, because half of them dont even know what they are doing, i only know 5 people who can afford and actually know how to drive fast cars.

I see people driving these new corvettes and stuff all over. A good portion of the time half of them who own them barely drive the speedlimit. You can tell they bought them purely to say they have them.

An 82 ZX turbo vs. an 82 Corvette would be a better matchup. The 93 will kill you. Even with 10psi. Not only is the Vette putting out more horsepower than the ZX is even capable of on the stock EFI but it's putting out a buttload of torque and has far more grip then the ZX to put it down with.

Take the advice above and tell the guy he has a small ***** and that you still have a better car (even if it is slower).

uh nope... gunna have to do more than that. Sorry Charlie. With all that... you're pushin maybe 230hp.... unless you push high boost & some bigger injectahs!

If you get some wicked shot of nos and feel like toasting your engine... then you could prolly eat a 90's Vette.

Well you toast your engine, but at least you annihilated the vette! Only a small price to pay, right guys?

All the while the Vette owner sits back in his leather seat & laughs the whole way home. DOH!

That seems like a kind of random thing to say to someone. Shoulda just said, "Umm, I never said anything about my car being able to outrun yours" and give him a puzzled, "wtf are you talking about?" look. Could also ask him, "And how much more did you pay for your car than my old Datsun?"

Negatory. Mathmaticaly, not taking into account driver error and cahones, his car will both top out at a higher speed and get there faster as well Leave it alone and point out the fact that he'll be balding soon

Dude, the hell with this guy!!!! Here is what you do!!! Go barrow a friends wet nitrious kit and run like a 200 shot, disconnect the exguast from in front of the cat so you are running an open down pipe and get some descent tires out back. Go do some trash talking and get the guy to race for titles and whooooooooop his ***!!!! Ya you might blow the motor but you could sell the vette and have plenty of money to build a nice L28 or even a stroker. Worse case scenario you blow the motor and lose so he gets a shell basically and if you think that is to much just turn the well all the way to lock at like 80 and then he gets a trashed blown up Z. LOL!!!!

Chances are that even if you did have more hp, the car would twist or lose traction. You would lose the race anyway because you've never driven a 350hp 280ZX before and if he lost, he is not going to give you his car anyway. This kind of stupid thread belongs on zcar(.com)

It doesn't matter how fast the car is. What matters is the Z is a better car. Plus it's not what you have, it's how you use it.

I had a buddy who put a 350 in his 76 280z and he put it like this man she go reall fast, and she will do it reall fast, I just wish the tires would grip the road so I could fill the actuall affect, and have the whole car do the same speed as the tires.
