Hey don't sweat it man. Not too big of a deal, brakes are pretty simple. But I understand, how you feel. I feel the same way, because I can't get a decent distributor with a working vaccum advance! That is what is preventing my Z from going back on the road. Oh well I have to have patience. And my interior should be done this weekend! Anyway good luck to you, and keep your head up. It will be all worth it, when you blast down the road in one of the best sportscars ever made! The Z's of course!

this isn't for a 280ZX, but don't feel bad, my Z has been down for almost a year with a spun crankshaft bearing. I got a free block (complete), put all new gaskets and everything, got the Z running, just for it to go down a week later. My head is warped, and is leaking water and oil. I'm going to get the head tomorrow from theramz, so I'll be able to drive my Z by next month at the latest.

WildmaN, you should just get a rebuilt one. That way atleast you know it will last you. Even if you do find a used one that works, for how long?

Yeah I would but they are expensive to me right now. The cheapest re-built one I could find was like $180! I just recently bought one on e-bay for $19.95 plus shipping, and the vaccum advance works great, because the guy tested it for me. I am stoked verry soon I will be driving my Z again!
