Screws and Bolts

Ok, so this is my first post here, hope i am in the right spot. So i got a 1982 280zx that is going in for rust repair, getting new floors. Anyway, so i had to take apart the interior. Now i am wondering, is there a list of screw and bolts that anyone has size, thread pattern that sorta thing. I have spent a year getting together a decent black interior and when i put it all together i would like new screws and bolts. Thanks

Welcome to ZDriver!

That would be a mightly long and detailed list of all the screws and bolts on a car. I don't think many people have the time to make such a list, but the good news is that the 280zx uses the same basic bolts throughout the car. The main ones are:

8mm
10mm fine thread
10mm coarse thread
12mm
14mm
17mm
Fine & course threaded screws
Some are short, some are long

The easiest thing to do, would be to take one of each to your local parts store (Napa usually has the best selection) and match up the bolts & threads you need.

Napa usually has a board of bolts & nuts w/ their listed size & thread for you to test fit.

^ Wow yeah....I think that pretty much sums it up. heh heh Anyway me personally...I will just clean them up the best I can. And replace like screws that are rusty or rounded on the inside some. Because a lot of the bolts..are hidden. Nice list though man...props..

If you want details get a factory parts manual. You can get a really nice one from Courtesy Nissan on CD. (Google it) You can also go to xenon's page: http://www.xenons130.com/ and check the fische's. Nismo's list is general and wildman has the right idea. I like the attention to detail though, nice touch.

thanks for all the help everybody, the reason i needed this list is because when i took the interior apart i found that it had been done before . And the person used random screws and bolts everywhere lol, but good list thanks alot nismopick, any idea where in the interior each is used,... or just the ones for the dash would even work thanks
