Hey everyone im getting new carpet for the z. Its a molded kit. This is my first carpet install on a car are there any tricks to the trade? And any one have a good sound deadening pad that they have used? Thanks!

 

I just make my own carpet kits - it's pretty easy actually. As for sound deadening pads the stock one's are hard to beat. Better yet is to do to a sound deadening material like dynomat (other brands that work just as well or better for less $$$).

I took out my carpets several times during restoration. IIRC, you'll need to remove the stereo part of the dash, and unbolt the bottom of the heater box to get the carpet under it. Also gotta remove the seats, then it's cake.

 

Thats good to hear i have all that out and the dash! Im planning on replacing the vac lines but its semi scary lol. And ima baby its to cold outside at the moment....
