How to install a MSA type II bodykit?
#26
Nothing new to report yet. Been worried and thinking about other things. I do know...that I need to get the slicktop running. Because my daily driver ('82 T-top) is falling apart. And I don't have money to get another car. So I need to concentrate on my slicktop. I will be working on it here relatively soon. Then as soon as I get it running. I will concentrate on the interior and bodykit. Stay tuned..

i'm doing the type 3 kit just not the rear (shaved). For the front I just used some bolts and nuts to hold it to the stock sugar scoops. Then I used some body filler (its like caulking but for automotive body panels.) With the sides i did the same but used some self tapping screws and some "kitty hair" to help bond it to the car.

Okay...to bring a thread back from the dead. Well it is my thread to begin with. lol
Anyway, the person I bought the kit from. Said he used a body glue, instead of the hardware the kit came with. I am still pondering on what I want to do. But I think I will try the body glue. Does anybody know what that is. And where I can get it?
If my Z gets running here soon. And I replace the ball joints, and such. And all goes well...I will be starting to mount the bodykit. Sorry for the long delay. But I have had so many things go on in my life. That it got put on the very back burner. Well time to revive this thread. And keep you all updated on this. Hopefully here soon.
And Shady...If and when I start mounting the bodykit, and such. I will try to do the best I can, in explaining on how to get it mounted. Don't be surprised, if I don't explain it in a very detailed way. I will do my best though. Anyway, will keep you all posted. Stay tuned.

^ Yes thank you Nismo, that is what I was after. Hopefully I will be installing the bodykit, here in the near future. Not so far off. Just need to get the Z roadworthy. Then I can start doing other things to it.

Update....since the Z is looking to be on the road here soon. I am going to start mounting my bodykit very soon. Just have a few more things to do. And then I will get started. I will keep you all posted.

I already starting mocking up my bodykit today. It is on the car, just not permanent yet. I decided I am going to drill the holes. There aren't that many to do. And they are inside the fender wells. Then I thought maybe, I would use the body glue to give them a better hold on the stock bumpers.
More coming soon, I should have it mounted completely tomorrow. And of course..pics will follow.

Allright..the moment some people have been waiting for. These were taken after I mocked up the bodykit on the car. It got dark, when I finished mounting it. So I will take pics tomorrow, and post. Enjoy, and feel free to comment.

Thanks man. Yeah the person I got the kit from, painted the kit gloss black. It has quite a few coats on it. So I believe it was painted professionally. It has a few chips and cracks in it. But it still cleans up pretty nice.
