Different taillight idea

I know that many S30 owners who want a different set of taillights on their cars go with 4" round tailights like those found on semi trailers and utility vehicles. I went ahead and mocked up a set of these lights on my Z and decided that they look much too small in the taillight panel of a ZX. I still like the idea of two round taillights on each side, i just want some bigger lights... Well, i was looking around and discovered that 7" schoolbus lights would be perfect for this application. They are cheap, easy to find, and reqiure little fab work to install, aside from welding up the spot where the stock taillights were, they mount flush with the metal and use one bolt in the center to hold them in place.

I would put a the red one on the inside and the amber one on the outside.

If someone could photoshop a set of these lights onto a ZX i would really appreciate it.

you may want to consider the smaller lights for reverse as well, it sucks not having reverse lights for those who have tried in small spaces on a dark night. or you could just fab in some skyline lights too!

I already have a set of foglights that i use as backup lights bolted up underneath the rear bumper behind the panel with the "slots". Though I will have to do something else when i put on the MSA rear bumper as i think it will cover them up. Not sure about that...

Wow they look huge! Not exactly what i had in mind, but i'm still going to give this project a shot. I just ordered a set of those lights... $48 for a set of 4. I figure if it doesnt look how i want i'm only out $50 for the whole thing...

If you scale those lights down another 20% it should look better. But I still don't like them.

Thanks, I "PhotoChop" a little bit. The lights frome the Shelby Cobra in gone in 60 seconds would be cool too, they are sequential meaning the turn signal moves from the inside to the outside of the taillight housing in order, showing the direction of the turn...like this... DDDDD DDDDD DDDDD DDDDD DDDDD and so on. If you are gonna go custom, then go custom!
