3.0 fuel injected strait 6

i've got a nissan 3.0 fuel injected strait 6 in my 280zx...but i dont know what nissan it is from...does anyone know what nissan cars have that engine?

are you sure that it is a 3.0 and not a 2.8 that has been bored out?

i'm pretty sure...the guy who had it before me put it in brand new...and he told me it was a 3.0...and thats also waht it says on the engine.

What is the engine code? Tell us what it says on the engine. Nissan OHC 3.0? or something like that? L30?

my best guess

Well after a quick check the only thing in the nissan family that i could find with a I6 was the is300, but something tells me that's not it.

The I6 in IS300 is LEXUS and same family as Toyota. Does nissan use toyota engine ?

This sure is a mystery. i wish we could all see a picture because even the L24 and L28 don't say 2.8 or any engine size on the valve cover. They just say Nissan OHC. And if yours says OHC 3.0 then its probably not even a Nissan engine. It might be a toyota Supra or something. They had 2.8 for a while. I'm not very familar with the late model engines.

Find a friend with a scanner and get a couple pictures of your engine please! It would be fun to know what you got in there.

I wouldn't question your knowledge of engine configuration, but the 300ZX does say 3.0 on that valve cover but it is a V6 not an I6. You do have a 280ZX for sure, not a 300ZX...

Or it could be as simple as someone just making a custom valve cover for the car! Maybe the L28 was bored out to 3.0

Yes that is a L28. With all the stock stuff. As far as i can research nissan never made a 3.0 I6. So the guy probably wasnt sure himself. But that is a nice ZX.
