Vibration/Gas Leaks

I have a 83 280ZX. The speedo shows approx 280k miles. Not sure that is right. Driving home the other day, I got a vibration in the rear end. It feels like a universal joint, but when I started checking, I noticed that I am leaking a little fuel around the passenger side gas tank strap. This concerns me, not real sure where the leak is. It appears that it may be coming from under the strap. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

hmm...

Can you tell if there is leakage around the strap? The easiest way that I know of is to take one of the straps off, or just loosen it. Typically, your tank won't crack, but some of the fittings for vent hoses might. Most likely it is a vent hose that is rotten, or pulled from it's housing.

Not real sure, it looks as if it may be draining down around the strap and then dripping. I quess that if it is a vent hose, etc. I would have to drop the tank completely to get to those hoses?

But that wouldnt make it vibrate..... could be as easy as a worn tire on the back, or an axle being a bitch, happened to me, check the uni joints....and air pressure.
