Sealing leaks (what leaks?)
Hey all,
I just used Aircraft Remover on my car before painting and didn't think about how it was going to eat away all my seals.
Sooo...
Anyone know where common leakage points are? I already got the rear lights, side lights, and the trim on the top of the door.
Thanks for any info.

#1... Why didn't you remove the rubber before paint stripping???
#2... The seals that are cracked, now decomposed from the chemical, or otherwise gone, are going to be the "common leakage points."

1) I did remove the obvious rubber -- but the stripper worked its way down into all kinds of cracks.
2) Again, I'm thinking there are seals that aren't immediately obvious (maybe round the edge of the roof/trim.

Any idea how to take off the trim that runs down the sides of the windshield? I took the screw out that holds the trim on the sides of the roof but it doesn't want to slide away from the windshield trim. (at least I think it should slide)

First...why would you park an aircraft on your car and second how is a chemical going to get it off the car??? I would use a crane or something like that
It is as far as I know common for leaks to occur around the quarter windows...the windshield Top and bottom and sometimes the sides and the cowl where the wipers are. T-Tops if you have any...under the rubber at the rear hatch latch. If you are able to get it to a car wash take someone with you and have them spray the car with you inside and look for leaks...or a pressure washer at the location of the car if not mobile. As for removing the windshield trim...I have no clue but they are fragile.

Windshield trim removal:
#1... remove door window rubber moldings from A-pillar chrome trim.
#2... remove screws from A-pillar trim.
#3... remove A-pillar trim.
#4... (a) use a windshield trim removal tool to remove top & bottom trim pieces
(b) slide them out sideways with your hands (do not lift... just slide).
