compression? Timing? check check check check!!!!

you dont have any clicking or tapping do you? hope to god your timing chain didnt slip of fall off.... but i have only heard that happen very rarely(good ole reliable timing chains....)

also whats the story? you were driving down the street and????? or you were changing the distributor cap and?????? or you were doing a burn out and?????? when did it quit working?

n e e d m o r e i n f o . . .

Have you tried restarting the car? If it's getting PROPER spark and PROPER fuel... it's likely flooded.

Hmm...maybe your ignition control module? Kind of sounds like the symptoms. It is located on the distributor. That could be going bad...and that causes your Z to run. Until the module gets warm...then it will not start until. It gets cooled off. Am I off...or close?

on the distridutor and it can be expensive... i dont know what the price it for a 280z is though

i had the same problem so i changed my icu and pick up coil and it hasnt done it since

oh and wildman mine got so bad it would do it even right after i started the car when the motor was cool... its a big problem for cars and trucks made in the 80's
