Me and my friend happen to have roughly 10k and want to purchase a 240, 260, 280... any of those will do for a chasis, for a project car. The people on this forum seem to know their stuff so I figure I would ask you guys. For 10k what is the fastest and most reliable car I can built. I have read about v8 swap, (will a ls1, or lt4 fit?) and any other swap immaginable. I own a 240 sx with the SR20DET, and I am putting down mid 12s without much modification, just normal bolt-ons. What should I look for in a car to buy, and what is the best motor for the price that is still reliable, and maybe you guys could budge me to where my car doesnt look rusty too. Just wondering if this is a possibility. Thanks

 

Get a good rust free 2 seater buy a 1jz-gte ... push them together really hard .... and you can do 10s

u will need custom engine mounts, custom tranny mounts, custom drive shaft, better brakes, LSD, propper fuel setup a/m ECU (for 10s), at least hi flowed turbos, big fat FMIC, wider wheels, bracing (eg strut braces), some plumbing and wiring... and then figure out how to hang on tightly enough....

If you are in australia or japan replace 1jz with RB25
