Problems with Air Intake Grille
Problems with Air Intake Grille
I have a 1978 280z and there are some rust holes in the air intake grille. Is it possible to replace this? and where do you think i can find the part?
OR, if it is too hard to find one, whats the best way to repair it?
Also, there was a thread I saw that had a long list of all the sites that sold car parts for Zcars. Can anyone point me in the direction of this tread please?

Thats called a cowl actually and heres wheres you can get a replacement! But sense its mostly flat you might be able to fix it with some sheet metal

The cowl is the same for '70-'78 so you should be able to find one in a junk yard cheap. Since welding will cause warpage you could put small sheet metal patches on the back side of it using panel adhesive and then body filler on top. Grind out the rust first and treat it with rust converter from Eastwood or auto paint supplier.
You actually thought you could buy a Z and just drive it? Bua ha ha ha! --and welcome to Zdriver.
