the power of the Z
hey guys, just another random post again...I enjoy writing these!
well, here's my story: as some of you know, I'm only 17. My dad gave me my Z when I got my license, and it's my car now. I've done some work to it, what needed to be done, and last night I wanted my dad to take my Z out and show me what he could get it to do. To be honest, I didn't think it'd do too much, because I felt it was getting slow. Needless to say, I was wrong. Earlier that evening, we wanted to teach my little brother how to drive, so we took him out in my father's neon and let him drive in this housing complex that was just all road, since the houses weren't built yet. The area had a few long straight-aways, perfect for screwing around with the Z. So, after teaching my brother to drive, we get the Z out. My dad has me do the first run, so that he could see what I could do. I squealed the tires a little on the take off, and got up to around 80 before I slowed down at the end of the straight-away. My dad had me turn around, and he took the Z for a spin. He hasn't driven the Z for a good 3 years, or less, so he said he was kinda rusty at it. He gets in the car, gets situated, slams the hell out of my door, and gets ready. He revvs the engine up, and pops the clutch. The rear end proceeds to shake and slide, and off we go. He speed shifts from 1st to second, and ends up squealing the tires from second. He speed shifts to 3rd, but then has to slow down because we were running out of road. To show me what he could do, he stops, revvs the engine again, and busts this huge donut that I had no idea the Z could do. The tires on the back were totally new, and we took a good 1,000 miles out of them because of all the donuts we did. He even spun the car around in reverse, which was cool. I'd have to say that's the most fun I've ever had in my Z, and he's teaching me to drive that way too...don't I have the coolest dad?
