NOW IT RUNS! (was:ARGH! Now it doesn't run at all)

Hey guys--- I figured out why the car died--- I guess 1 gallon isnt enough in the tank for it to run well. I put in about 5 gallons and it ran fine... BUT while messing with the wires by the voltage regulator, and doing to chg system testing, the engine died (when I took off the + cable to see if it would stay running) and now won't start at ALL! It's getting spark-- if I spray some starter fluid in a vacuum line it fires--.

I swapped the CPU with a spare, and that didn't cure the problem.. I checked ALL the wires and fuses and connectors--- no luck. Any ideas?

Do you have fuel pressure?

If you can't check that, make sure your fuses are good and see if your fuel pump is getting power.

there's pressure, and the pump is getting power... all the fuses are OK

i think its about time for a new engine, or a new rebuild.

no, I dont think its that serious--- if anything I'll put my carbs on and that'll be it

i want the FI to work though

Ooh, you have a FI now, What are you planing to do wth your Carbs?, i am looking for some SU's for my 260z, i will buy them off of you if there are at a good price.

How about the coil, plug wires and spark plugs? I found that my car wouldn't start if the coil wire was pinched a little out of place since the wiring was so old.

NOW IT RUNS!

Turned out when I took the positive terminal off when the engine was running i fried the ECU. A trip to the junkyard today and $31 and its fixed. Thanks for the advice everyone!
