help
has anyone removed the original steering wheel off a 260Z? My simple (READ: slow) brain doesnt seem to be able to figure out how to do this. Also, how would I go about changing the gear oil of a 260Z 5 speed gearbox.
cheers

Re: help
The horn button pulls off & then loosen the 22(?)mm nut & free the wheel by using a puller or your arms (NOT a hammer). Don't fully remove the nut until the wheel has disengaged the splines, else you will end up with at least one black eye...
There is a 1/2" fill plug on the side of the gearbox & a 1/2" drain plug on the bottom. Sometimes they WILL NOT come out (even with a breaker bar/heat). The last box I worked on would not let go of it's fill plug, so we filled it via the drain. In order to do this you need to remove the box from the car.
If all goes well you can fill via the shifter hole in the floor (route tubing to the fill hole). Or you can get a hand pump to help you. I highly recommend a workshop manual before you get started. The Haynes one is readily available & pretty accurate.
Keep us posted with progress.
