The SUs are very different from a Holley. They don't have a lot of parts or accelerator pumps. They are simpler in design and fairly easy to rebuild. Before you take them apart try to start your car by pulling 3/4 choke, don't press the pedal down or pump it. When it starts let it run for 30 secs and push the choke forward slightly as it warms up. This is the best way to start a properly tuned Z. Make sure you don't have any vacuum leaks and that your dizzy advance is moving freely. That vacuum thingy on the cross over tube is the anti back fire valve, it opens the throttle slightly when you decelerate to keep it from dumping in to much raw gas. If these things aren't working right, some people mistakenly retune the carbs and dizzy. It will run but won't start for ****. Get the book on them from MSA so you can have it on hand while you work.
ok I told you I would stop asking questions but, have any of you run into the problem with the Fuel Filler tube? I just found out they are no longer available from nissan and no one carries the original style so I have been told.

yeah, if you drop the tank you might be able to fix it, its just an aluminum tube about 1 foot long then i think a flexible rubber elbow into the gas tank, check all that stuff for loose clamps or holes...

I have a haynes manual on the way, but I picked this up as well. There is a bunch of great information in it and was shipped to me in 3 days. You can't beat a brand new tech book for $6. The only problem I had with it is the smell. I don't know where it was stored but it reaks of Lucas Red and Tacky grease.. lol
