Interior question
I just got my '73 240z today and got to wondering. I have a really nice interior...but it's gray. I can't find a gray interior kit anywhere. I don't know how it got there because in the lists I've seen for stock colors, there is no gray. Where'd it come from??
Also, I may as well just tack it on since I am already posting. After I turn off the car, the engine occasionally shakes for about 3 seconds, revs up about 500 rpms, then shuts off. Any ideas?

Check out victoriabritish.com they've got everthing you need to restore your Z. I purchased a kit (black)... just carpet...Everything is a perfect fit through and through... They've got em in black, blue, grey, red, and tan...

Your car is dieseling. That is common for cars with a carb. That usually means that your engine is running very good and has good compression so it still sucks in a small amount of fuel fromt he carb once you turn the engine off. Just the compression alone is able to ignite the fuel but only for a couple seconds. It shakes becuse it is running on only a few cylinders and at very low rpm. Its nothing to worry about. You can kill the engine with the clutch right when you turn it off if you want. Some carbs have an anti-dieseling solinoid.... I'm not sure if the 240Z had that.

Before you buy from victoriabritish, check out motorsports www.zcarparts.com the catalog is $5 but when you order from them you get $5 dollars off, and there usualy cheaper, anything you see in victoriabritish, check out motorsports first, there about 40% cheaper, good luck

The factory never produced a grey interior, so it's a custom job.
With your dieseling, check your mixtures - you could have carbon build-up in the cylinders that is holding enough heat to ignite the mixture.
