horn connection..
Haven't posted in awhile, but i am finally ready to get my Z inspected. Last thing I have to do is connect my horn, I put in a grant steering wheel from MSA and am having trouble running the wire for the positive lead. Ran it once but ended up wrapping around the column after a drive and had to disconnect. What is the best way to run the wire to avoid it getting caught up so my horn doesn't continuously go off? Thanks in advance.

Re: horn connection..
It shouldn't run into the steering wheel if I remember right.
I think the contact ring mounts to the bottom of the steering
wheel and the wire part connects to the bottom contact
points. Anybody out there have Grant mounting instructions ?

On the European rally racers, you can see that the horn button (or some other wheel function) runs through a coiled wire and wraps around the steering column when you turn the wheel. They leave some slack so it can stretch, but the coiled wire will hold close to the wheel even when you are going straight.
that is, if you absolutly can not figure out how to mount it like it was originally. The coiled wire is simular to most telephone receiver wires. In fact, you might be able to just use one of those. They have two internal wires. Then hook it to a relay so you don't draw too much amperage through the small wires.
Rally racers also have a higher geared steering column so they have fewer turns lock to lock. This may not work on a street car...

Sparco makes a very cool bolt on plate to mount your accessory buttons to
under the steering wheel. has I believe 4 holes in it for that NOS button and
other goodies
