help on a tb project!
Hello Z'ers,
I was able to get my hands on a stock '89 240sx throttle body & cable, tps, assy. etc. and I would like to put it into my stock 280zx (n42 l28e). I have done minor intake work, but mostly with tuning carbs, airboxes, etc, I haven't done any tb work. For anyone who has installed a 240sx tb in a 280zx or older Z please guide me through, I'd like to do this myself. From what I've read, I should get a more compadible afm also, unless I want to run lean on on the air fuel mixture (which I don't, duh ;P).. I've heard from a turbo 280zx would work. But if anyone could help me out on this one, I'd appreciate it. In the next few days I'm going to make a straight pipe intake much similar to the cold air one available in msa for some rediculous price of $130, I've already ordered the k&n filter. I'm wondering what adaptations/installations I'll to make on the 240sx tb or my intake, to make this a smooth swap. No real rush on the project, I'd just like to have it done sometime soon. Once again the materials I have are:
'89 240sx 60mm throttle body, throttle pos. sensor, and possibly the throttle cable... seen here

I own a mostly stock, engine-wise, '79 280zx...
..
help is needed...
thanks!

Got things figured out.. some troubleshootin
Okay Zed heads..
I managed to scrounge the info I needed from idealz.com (thanks for answering my forum... ahem..8P), and I just settled to mounting the 240 tb upside down, you know.. with the "Hitatchi" pointing toward the ground.. heheh. Anyway, I have the pedal assy. from the 240sx, but I was wondering if there is anyway I could keep my 280 pedal/arm on there so I don't have to use the tiny 240 one. I have some momo pedal grips that will hardly fit onto the tiny 240 gas pedal, but they work great on the 280zx. I would just mount all of the 240sx pedal assembly and then just cut the pedal arm, then weld the 280 arm on there, but I don't have access to a welder, so if there's anyway I could disassemble any of the 240sx throttle/pedal assembly so it would fit my 280zx pedal.. without cutting or ruining anything (as I may have to put things back in). I'd hate to have to get stuck with my 280zx, pedal-less in my garage until I could get things welded back together. Any ideas? Appreciated, in advance!
