Heater/Water Hose problems

Heater/Water Hose problems
Hi,
I need some help, I have a 1983 280ZX non-turbo. I have sprung a leak in the one of the hoses going to the heater core. I finally found a diagram for the hoses going to the heater core but not sure what the fittings are. Apparently, the pervious owner had a problem with the heater and just disconnected and plugged the lines. I found the diagram in Haynes 280ZX. It is on page 66, Fig 2.2 External components of the engine (right side). There are two tees, one that goes into the water inlet and off the top there is a short piece of hose that goes to? Then there is some type of fitting the mounts/screws into the block in the back and then goes up to the heater core. What is it? Does it feed water to the block? Then there is the other tee that comes off the water inlet and goes back, not sure what the circulation path is. If anyone came please help me I would appreciate your help.
Thanks,
Big E

Re: Heater/Water Hose problems
Hi,
My heater was disconnected by it's previous owner because it would leak coolant onto the ground. Anyway I found the problem was one of the hoses that was under the dash was too big and it had kinked and was blocking water flow. The way I have looked at the water flow is that it goes into the head from the radiator then comes out around the back of the head and into the firewall thru the heater then straight back out to the radiator.
Hope that helps alittle.
