sorry for the question, but my friend and i have looked everywhere for the answer to it including the fsm, Chilton's, and pretty much everywhere else. Which hose is the inlet and which is the outlet for the heater and where do they connect on the engine?

 

The only thing a Chilton's manual is good for, is starting a camp fire.
