Have any advice?

Hi, I'm a new kid on the block. Found a really clean 260Z at a reasonable price. Are there any weak links in Z cars I should look for? I was told the frame goes bad where the front sway bar connects right behind the front wheel. Also, is it any real problem getting rid of the smog stuff? They don't test where I live anyhow, and I'm thinking fuel injection. Thanks, Gofast

Weak part of any S30 or S130 Z.... RUST (period). The quarters, fenders, rockers, and floorboards are usually rusted out... along w/ framerails. To save us from typing the same thing over & over, there is a Z buying checklist sticky in the 280zx section. Click here:

Rust is even a problem in California with the S30 body. Check it out thoroughly - battery tray, frame rails, trailing edge of hatch, bottoms of fenders. The drain holes get plugged and then they hold water & rust.
