carb question

what is my carz carbz (2.6eng. w/ 2.4 carbz) supposed to be set for the air/fuel mixture ratio?

the fuel mixture adjustment nut on the bottom should be turned out 1 1/2 turns. You then need a unisyn aif flow guage to fine tune the trottle openings.

Ztherapy.com might have some stuff you can download on this.

is that for a 240 or 260?
the 260 needs more gas than the 240 so I want to be sure but I will test it out tomorrow to see if that works.

Carb Adjustment

The settings I was describing are for SU Carbs in general.. A 260 has slightly larger displacement but most likely will run well at the same settings. You can always play with it but you do not want to pay the price of going too lean.

If you can find them you should also get a set of Grosse Jets for the carbs as well.

I will try it out in the morning...using a gas can because my gas tank is still being rebuilt (will be ready as soon as mon. or as late as wed.)

There is no way you can set a carb to final tune by just setting the mixture by a set number of turns. Things like the space around the throttle shafts that leak vacume will not be the same form one carb to the other . There are just to many things that enter into this . For one thing are the carbs round top SUs or flat top units. I see this is an old post and if the units have been set lean it may be too late now in any case.
