Brake lights out

Just noticed the other night that my Brake lights are not working when pressing the brake. I just bought the (1978 280Z) Z at the begining of July and not sure now if they ever worked. Checked the Bulbs and all seem to be in good shape. Same with the fuses.

Other maybe related problem???
1. when I turn on the Right turn signal It does not flash. The light will come on and stay on. Left turn signal works just fine.
2. When I turn on Hazard lights they dont work either. infact when I flip the switch the Volt gage kinda freaks out.

Please any suggestions would be welcome my inspection is due THIS MONTH.......

Brake switch... common prob. See page 136 of 240z-280z Haynes manual.

#1... check front and back turn bulbs

#2... check relay.

Replaced Brake light switch and brake bulbs... Got one to come on however it is not the BRAKE light it is the lights on switch.

I did find an after market bulb socket installed kinda shotty (passenger side). Seeing if I can replace that tonight.

so still no "Brake lights"

Are the lights in the Z in series? the reason I ask is when one goes out it seems to affect others.

Ok ok .... Got flashers to work by cleaning the fusible link terminals. but only while the car is on.

Still no luck with the brake lights.

volt ohm meter reads zero resistance when wires are unplugged and open and full resistance when no brake applied. so i tested the resistance with just the two wires and nothing is passing.

I think the prob is wires under the dash some where....... no fun
