Rust. That stopped my 280Z project dead in its tracks.

pretty much rust, also the bosch POS fuel injection system (tybically the AFM) is problematic at times, it can give headaches, but if it is running good and you keep it clean and take care of it its not likely for problems to arise. seems like the most problematic cars are the later turbo motors since they have more sensors to go bad that adversley effect the engine performance

The later turbos only have 3 more plugs than the N/A harness. Oil temp, head temp and CAS.
Theres nothing problematic about them.

More than half the time you see one not running its because someone cant seem to figure out the 3 wires it takes to swap it.

sorry for misleading, i didn't mean to say they were problematic in general, just a bit more so than the S30 or the NA (just a bit which isn't much to start with, i was just being general with the statement, or relative w/e). don't let my words come off as making it sound like rocket science, but what i meant is if the AFM gets a problem, or something simple like bad O2 or bad CHTS or a dirty CAS or just a poor connection between any of those can cause the car to not run, run so terribly you want to shoot yourself or flood. lol. but it also leaves few places to investigate unlike modern cars. (and typically it's bad connection because of the age of these cars)

thanks, i just finished painting it white. posting pictures in a bit. and what exactly do you mean by patch panels? looking for specific sections on the car or something?

and lol wear a condom, or get her on BC and split the cost like a man and if an emergency happens you got 72 hrs to use a plan B pill. i spooge once in a lady friend, luckily i threw her off just as it was sneaking up on drunk me (tho half a second late), and yeah, it was freaky, but im 80% sure im sterile LMAO!!!! (i have inactive TB which TB makes people sterile apparently, or maybe it was cystic fibrosis. meh!) but at least i knew my options.

A "patch panel" is a reproduced panel that matches the original factory one welded in place..
not fenders or valances but things like, rocker panels, rear lower tirewell etc..

i need a prefabbed panel for this area below in the picture. And possibly another for the spare tire (but i might just make that ares my own creation)
With my chevies there's a TON of vendors but the two most common and affordable ones use 22 gauge panels that suck to install, so we use (typically) the more expensive vendors due to the much higher quality of part.

This, gentlemen, is what im looking for. The producer of prefabbed weld in replacement panels that is of a non shitty quality. Why? Because im tired of fabbing my own crap, not enough beer and not enough time.

I have never seen replacement panels for that area. It should be easier to make your own since you've done it before. The other side is more difficult but is hidden by the headlight scoop. Donor cars work the best if you can find one.

that flat panel is easy cut and weld with some junkyard metal
