ive got a 240z with an l28 engine, t04 turbo, shnieder turbo cam, rc engineering 550 cc. injectors, port matched gaskets, polished intake and exhaust manifold, silvia intercooler core (very effecient) and a stand along engine management system= 338 rear wheel torque. Re: Anyone have any hp and torque specs for mods
I have read on a certain web page that the dished piston L28 puts out 135hp and the flat-top pistons put out 145hp when tuned up nicely and completely stock.
I went to a dyno session and saw two older 280Z's (dished pistons) one put out 135 and the other 136 at the rear wheels. They also do about 155 pounds of torque at 3000 rpm, so the power picks up quickly.
For the most part, adding a K&N filter and doing a complete exhaust upgrade adds 12 to 15 hp total at the rear wheels.
A 280Z would have 150hp while a 1981-83 280zx may have 160hp. The fuel injection was only set up to work well up to 5,000 rpm so you will need to modify the fuel system slightly to take advantage of a cam if you want more power above 5200.
My car dynoed at 135hp but soon after went in and failed emissions. Now I have it running much better so I'm probably back in that 145 to 155hp range. (1982 280zx)
I saw a 240Z with these mods
L28, flat top pistons, E88 head shaved ported and polished. Tripple webbers, K&N filter, 2.5" exhaust and headers. He had 151hp at 6000 rpm. Not quite what you'd expect for tripples.

Have a look at http://www.lightman.co.uk/zclub/ in the rides section, there is a good dyno sheets with specs there!
