73 240z bad tach?
My tach pegs at 8k when the car is running (used to only do this when the car was warm and now does it all the time). I was wondering what people think is the best way to fix this (replacing a resistor, converting to 280z tach, etc) with full details (type of resistor, 280z tach issues, etc). Thanks.

easiest method, IMO, is to put in an autometer 5" tach. it fits right into the stock Z gauge pod. The problem itself is a resister within the tach itself burning out, and this is a very common problem. My stock tach did the same thing, idled about 5k rpm.
You can crack it open and replace the toast resistor, JTR manual has some info on this. I'll see if I can find it and post it later
